The popularity of sanatorium and resort treatment is steadily increasing, and this is not surprising. A course of health procedures at a sanatorium can address numerous health issues while also providing a wonderful opportunity for relaxation. Sanatoriums are typically located in beautiful, ecologically clean areas, within national parks and protected nature zones, making them ideal for full-fledged rest and health recovery.

A trip to a sanatorium, like any journey, requires careful preparation, an essential part of which is gathering the necessary documents.

In 2026, the following set of documents will be required for check-in at a sanatorium-resort facility:

  • Sanatorium-resort card of the established form, not older than two months (form 072/u)
  • Passport or other identity document (seafarer's identity card, international passport of a Russian citizen, military ID of a Russian serviceman (during mobilization, martial law, and wartime), driver's license
  • SNILS – insurance number of an individual personal account
  • Mandatory health insurance policy
  • For pregnant women, the presence of an exchange card is mandatory
  • A certificate from a therapist confirming no contact with probable COVID-19 patients in the last 7 days, obtained no more than 3 days before departure to the sanatorium

If you are traveling with a child, you will also need:

  • Birth certificate (passport for individuals over 14 years old)
  • SNILS – insurance number of an individual personal account
  • Mandatory health insurance policy
  • Analysis for enterobiasis
  • Vaccination certificate
  • Conclusion from a dermatologist confirming the absence of infectious skin diseases
  • Certificate from the local pediatrician or epidemiologist confirming no contact of the child with infectious patients at home, in kindergarten, or school in the last 21 days (the validity period of the contact certificate is 3 days from the date of issuance)

Children under 4 years old do not receive sanatorium-resort treatment, but to stay with their parents and be on the territory of the sanatorium, all the above-mentioned documents are required, except for the sanatorium-resort card.

Before traveling, it is necessary to consult with your attending physician, who will prescribe a set of examinations to obtain a sanatorium-resort card. Remember: the more complete information about your health condition you provide, the higher the effectiveness of sanatorium-resort treatment will be.
